Plate Indexing Systems with Mobile Carts are currently available in 40” and 65” and are designed for use where plate handling is difficult because of space constraints and/or very large plate size and/or slip-sheeting for protection of one plate from another in transport is a standard procedure. The plate indexing system delivers each punched/bent “press ready” plate onto it’s own wire shelf in a mobile indexing cart.

Most carts will hold 20 to 50 plates depending upon plate geometry. Once racks in the mobile cart are full the cart is disconnected from the indexing system and replaced with an empty one. The mobile cart can be wheeled press side where the press operators hang the plates on press or can hold plates in storage until needed. The pressman is the first to touch the plate since the pre-press operator placed the blank, flat non-imaged plate into the CTP device.

The plate indexer is also used in conjunction with the Burgess Dual Plate Highway.
