The Burgess ANP Bender was designed specifically for single width newspapers that require precise automated plate bending at a reasonable price. The ANP uses an Electronic Edge Register systems that can be configured to match any CTP device, a perfect choice for conventional Film-To-Plate applications or CTP. The ANP is widely used as a back-up for fully automated inline plate bending systems. It is available in fully-automated and semi-automated models.

The Burgess ANP can be configured to match any of today’s plate setters that use electronic edge register for plate positioning. Electronic edge register greatly increases the productivity of the bender as the operator doesn’t leave the operators side of the bender.


The Burgess ANP Bender (Automated News Print) Operation:
While standing at the operating position of the bender, 1) The operator pushes a button to raise the electronic edge stops. The operator then manually inserts the plate and positions it against the three electronic edge stops. 2) When contact is made against the three edge stops 3) with LED lights, 4) the vacuum hold down system is activated and automatically secures the plate in position. 5) The operator pushes two buttons that retract the electronic edge stops and moves the bending cams into position. Once the bending cams are in position two rotary actuators on either side of the bending wings automatically rotate and the bending is completed.
